What We Do

We’re a grassroots movement of people who want to protect and restore Australia’s wetlands.

Wetlands are some of the most important ecosystems on Earth. They filter water, store carbon, support endangered species and help protect our communities from floods and drought. But across Australia, wetlands are under pressure from development, degradation and climate change - and they need our help.

Our work includes:

🌿 Community-led Advocacy
We raise awareness about the importance of wetlands and campaign for strong, science-based protections at the local, state and national level. From threatened site campaigns to pushing for policy change, we give wetlands a voice.

🪶 Wildlife & Habitat Protection
Wetlands are home to hundreds of species — many found nowhere else. We work to defend and restore the habitat that frogs, fish, birds and other wildlife depend on, including threatened and culturally significant species.

🌱 Restoration & Care for Country
We support wetland regeneration projects grounded in Traditional Owner knowledge, ecological science and local community care. Every reed planted, every invasive species removed, helps bring wetlands back to life.

🗣️ Education & Engagement
We create opportunities for people of all ages to connect with wetlands through talks, workshops, school programs and field days. Because the more we understand these landscapes, the more we fight to protect them.

🤝 Partnerships for the Long Term
We collaborate with Traditional Owners, local landholders, scientists, artists, and other community groups — knowing that wetlands are complex systems, and lasting change requires collective effort.
